The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Burner

  • burning: futile attempt at casting light on a problem bothering the dreamer; see Burning.
  • a burner whose light has extinguished: can symbolize the death of an acquaintance of the dreamer (usually within nine months).
  • of stove or oven (also gas): see Stove.
  • electric hotplate: unlike conventional stoves, they do not supply energy from the burning of instinctual symbols (e.g. firewood), but draw their energy from emotions and therefore symbolize as an electrical appliance one of the participants of interpersonal relations (usually of the dreamer).
