Mandala

  • expresses a unified consciousness on an emotional or spiritual level of consciousness, and is consequently a symbol of completeness or even a representation of the essential Self.
  • one of the original forms of many archetypes (e.g. UFO – Initiation Ceremonies, Alchemist, Self).
  • used in Hinduism and Buddhism as a schematic representation of the world and of a person's psychological structure; shows the unity of the macrocosm and microcosm; in psychology a mandala is understood as a symbol of the individuation process*11.
  • Lama mandala: generally features the square shape of a stupa*10 inside which forms the essence of the mandala.
