The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Reflection

  • see Shine.
  • the sky's reflection on the water's surface: an emotional view of spiritual images or processes.
  • the reflection of objects or nature on the water: on the one hand, expresses the ability to see things from another point of view; on the other hand means an inability to recognize phenomena taking place within the psyche (beneath the surface); beware: an unclear image of a person on the surface can lead to idealization, sometimes the water's reflection can duplicate the world and objects in it.
  • in a mirror: shows the self-knowledge process and therefore a mirror can be a means for glimpsing into the past and future and can show in the reflection of ourselves strange shapes and figures (incarnation).
  • reflections on the water's surface and in a mirror: can depict the negative part of the dreamer's mind in the personified form – his shadow (see Shadow archetype).
  • of oneself: an unhealthy focus on oneself (narcissism) often marked by homosexuality in men or women.
  • of oneself in the opposite sex (a man sees himself as a woman; a woman as a man): a very important dream of the Anima – Animus archetype; an attempt to realize his sexual motives, to expose the delusions of the personality and, above all, the delusions of sexuality on the emotional level.
