- refused violence: typical of emotional personifications, while instinctual personifications welcome violence; spiritual personifications have an indifferent approach linked to compassion for the victim and instigator of violence.
- rejecting the promises of others: in doing so the dreamer liberates himself (in the figures of the personification that promise) from the pressures and suffering that the promise triggers.
