- inability to be gallant, or resenting or rejecting gallantry: the dreamer is tragically fixated on one of the antitheses (male or female) and is unable to come to terms with the existence of qualities of the opposite sex within; on the unconscious level this state is very similar to a maturing child and ensuing puberty in everyday life.
- for men: gallantry toward a woman on the unconscious level and in dreams indicates a positive relationship to one's female part (to the anima) and gradual preparation for unification on the emotional level.
