the unification of antitheses successfully continues.
represents one of the most dynamic symbols of spiritual development; symbolizes a new life that grows and matures in the safe womb.
usually foretells of an ascension from the instinctual level to the emotional and only rarely from the emotional to the spiritual level (the Anima – Animus and Coniunctio archetypes describe this process).
seen or experienced: encourages the dreamer to be patient since the fetus in the mother's womb must sufficiently develop until nature performs its work that leads to the birth process (see Birth) and the newborn's arrival (see Child).
encountering a pregnant woman: this image can trigger the Basic Perinatal Matrix archetype; the dreamer now gains access to the divine experiences of antenatal and birth states so that ultimately the relived birth phases culminate in the beautiful moment of birth in which the infant and the mother giving birth share a unified consciousness.
everyone subconsciously returns to the mother's womb in various allegorical images (treetop, swing, curled up etc.) to once again experience the state of unity, a state of undisturbed peace and tranquility; if these allegorical images are attacked by external influences then the dream is a reflection of a "bad womb."*57
being an embryo in the mother's body: consciousness knows no physical or temporal boundaries, which is why, during the process of self-knowledge through one's consciousness, we can discover the remarkable phenomenon of the beginning of our current physical body; by reliving embryonic development and birth we can understand the very beginnings or our own models of behavior and thinking and, at the highest level, even experience the unified consciousness of the mother and child or the cosmic consciousness (see Basic Perinatal Matrix archetype).
a dream pregnancy almost never reflects an actual pregnancy in waking consciousness; if this happens, then it was a glimpse into the future that is not such a rare dream occurrence (see Past and Future Visions archetype).
