The Dream Book of Self-Knowledge

Meat

  • processing meat and other products or the distribution of meat and meat products: the dreamer is submitting to power of instincts and a sexual mindset prevails with him.
  • eating raw meat: persistent sexual desire opens the animalism in the dreamer.
  • eating animal meat: intensifying of sexual desire.
  • eating human meat (or seeing others do it): see Cannibalism.
  • boiled: sexuality slightly "softened" by feeling.
  • cauldron full of meat: symbolizes the dreamer's attempt to transform sexual desire within.
  • baked, roasted, smoked: sexual desire in a whirl of destructive passion and lust.
  • liver: a sexual symbol, though, unlike the musculature symbol, the liver is "softened" with emotion.
  • in a pot, in a vessel: the desire for sexual intercourse.
  • around a bone: a phallus in connection with female genitalia.
  • rooster meat (not meat from other poultry): a reward for the attempt to free oneself by controlling lust from the instinctual level of experience.
  • chicken: has a clear link to sexuality and eating it symbolizes the submission to those subtle, often romantic impulses arising from within; white chicken meat lulls the dreamer into the conviction that sexuality is a pure feeling.
  • feeding meat to animals: see Feeding.
  • a surplus of meat at the market or in shops: indicates a rise in sexual energy without conscious control.
  • a lack of meat at the market or in shops: indicates insufficient sexual energy.
  • broth: strong erotic and sexual symbolism is creeping into emotions.
  • putrid: the dreamer is abandoning instinctual thinking that had led him to slavish sexual dependency.
  • refusing: the dreamer does not want to passively accept the dictate of subconscious impulses urging the dreamer toward sexual activity.
  • nausea from meat (eaten, smelt or seen): disillusionment with a sexually tinged relationship.
  • snake and fish meat: surpasses the sexuality of red meat and the sexuality in feelings in the form of white meat and elevates the symbol of meat to a spiritual food.
  • eating snake meat: eating dream snake meat allows the dreamer, even if only in the dream, to understand animal language*40 and to normally speak with animals.
  • distributing bull meat at a feast, but not eating it yourself: an important dream in which the dreamer documents his control over sexuality and renounces sexual desire that others in the form of the portions of meat enthusiastically accept.
